Nintendo's new overview trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time details a way to play Link's ocarina through the Switch 2 microphone, alongside a new monster-rematch feature. The rebuilt Nintendo 64 adventure launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.

According to Nintendo's accompanying announcement, players can hum a melody Link has learned, or play it on a real instrument, and the console's microphone will pick it up and make his in-game ocarina respond.

Monster rematches and new controls

A new hall displays statues of defeated monsters. Players can visit to learn about those enemies or challenge them to a rematch.

The changes extend to movement and presentation. Nintendo's US store page lists jumping and dashing, enhanced controls and modern camera movement. Nintendo also confirms overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue and symphonic orchestral music.

The story still follows Link and his fairy companion Navi as they try to stop Ganondorf from taking the Triforce and plunging Hyrule into darkness. The store describes this version as built from the ground up for Switch 2.

Price, app support and amiibo timing

The standard edition is listed at $59.99 in the US. Nintendo also confirms support for ZELDA NOTES through the Nintendo Switch App on compatible smart devices. Using the app requires a Nintendo Account, a persistent internet connection and a compatible device; data charges may apply.

Two new Ocarina of Time amiibo figures are due in 2027, after the game's November launch, and will unlock special in-game masks. Existing Legend of Zelda amiibo will provide rewards when tapped during play. The figures are sold separately.
