Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launched on Nintendo Switch 2 today, October 23, bringing the series back to Nintendo with its campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ extraction mode.
The Standard Edition costs $69.99 on Nintendo's US store. Beyond buying the game, Multiplayer and DMZ both require a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo's launch announcement also offers a seven-day membership trial, including to players who have used a trial before.
Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ on Switch 2
Multiplayer launches with 12 new core 6v6 maps, alongside larger battlefields that combine vehicles and infantry. Those 12 maps are not the entire roster: Infinity Ward's official launch notes list 20 multiplayer maps overall, including three Ground War maps, four Gunfight maps and Kill Block.

DMZ trades conventional matches for deployments into a conflict zone, where players recover military technology, gather loot and try to extract with what they have collected. It supports solo deployments or squads, with encounters that can involve fighting, negotiation or betrayal.
The campaign follows South Korean Private Park and Captain Price, who is operating outside his former command. Its missions include trench fighting in Korea, close-quarters combat in New York and chases through Paris.
Before starting, check that the latest updates and required content packs are installed, as Infinity Ward advises in its launch notes. Our Modern Warfare 4 launch-patch coverage covers the weapon, movement and progression changes made since the beta.
