Cyberpunk 2077's free Edgerunners 2 update launches on October 22 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow shortly afterwards, but does not yet have an exact release date.
Also known as Update 2.5, it will add content inspired by the new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime alongside other items and features, according to CD PROJEKT RED's announcement. The studio announced the patch on October 20, the same day all ten episodes of the series arrived on Netflix.
Cyberware customization and a new dual-wielding playstyle are among the additions confirmed in a separate REDstreams announcement. The full feature list and details of the anime crossover are still to come.
CD PROJEKT RED will show more of the update during REDstreams on October 21 at 5pm CEST, broadcast on Twitch, YouTube and Steam. Official patch notes are scheduled for the same day, giving players a look at the changes before the October 22 release.
Edgerunners 2 is a standalone Night City story
The Netflix series returns to Cyberpunk 2077's Night City with an all-new cast. CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER describe it as a standalone story involving a veteran edgerunner, a young cinephile, a chrome-obsessed delinquent and a Snake Nation netrunner.
Kai Ikarashi directs the series, with Bartosz Sztybor serving as showrunner, story writer and producer. Both Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series are available exclusively on Netflix.
