Helldivers 2 is adding two venomous Terminid variants on November 3, alongside bug caves that can appear across more planetary biomes. The new Noxious strain can poison players with its bites, while the larger of the two enemies also fires webs that prevent sprinting.

The official announcement introduces the Noxious Scavenger and Noxious Spewer. Their arrival gives squads another reason to keep stims available: poison hazes vision and drains health over time. Heavy poisoning increases that damage and stops players sprinting as well. A new HUD icon tracks the condition, and stims can cure it.

Underground encounters are also spreading beyond the handful of worlds where caves previously appeared. Terminid tunnels now have a chance to show up in more biomes, including deserts and frozen tundras. That does not mean every planet is guaranteed a cave, but it puts the fast new enemies in more places where short sightlines and blind corners limit a squad's warning.

The Noxious Spewer can trap nearby bugs too

The Noxious Spewer combines speed with a medium-range Web Spit attack that disables sprinting, letting it close in for a quick, long-reaching bite. Its venom is stronger than the Scavenger's, making close contact especially dangerous.

Its weak point comes with a catch. The Spewer's head has medium armor, but its web-filled abdomen is unarmored. Bursting that sac triggers a Web Explosion that snares both Helldivers and nearby bugs, so attacking the exposed target can also catch squadmates in the blast.

Noxious Scavengers are smaller and more fragile, but move faster than ordinary Scavengers and can bite repeatedly in quick succession. The announcement recommends shotguns, flamethrowers and grenades against them, favoring weapons that can handle quick targets without demanding precise aim.

Helldivers 2 is a squad-based shooter with up to four-player online co-op. It is available on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.
