Where Winds Meet will add the Hutuo region on November 13 as part of its first global anniversary update. The new story takes players into a war-torn frontier, while the celebration also introduces Horse Racing Chess and Jianghu Tactics board game modes.
The developer's announcement on PlayStation Blog sets out a separate late-November release for the Dual Spears Martial Art. Directed and choreographed by action director Yuen Woo-ping, known for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, it switches between offensive Light Spears and stance-breaking Heavy Spears, building Spear Stance to sustain combos. It is not part of the November 13 rollout.
Hutuo's battle at Zhongdu Bridge
Hutuo's narrative centres on the battle of Zhongdu Bridge, where collapsing defences leave displaced civilians exposed to an invading army. The story puts loyalty to the throne in conflict with protecting the people behind the front line.
Its quests also follow people living through the war, including a soldier resisting brutal orders and civilians sheltering refugees. The developer says environmental storytelling will carry those smaller perspectives alongside the main conflict.

That setting contrasts with the academies and card-based debates of October's Qingzhou update, which introduced guest-scholar learning without requiring players to leave their existing sect. Hutuo turns the focus back towards a battlefield and the people caught in it.
PS5 Pro reflections and loading improvements
On PS5 Pro, the developer says enhanced PSSR and upgraded ray-traced reflections will render Hutuo's rivers and wetlands at a stable 60fps. That is the studio's performance claim, not an independently tested result.
The PlayStation upgrades also include DualSense adaptive-trigger and haptic effects, fewer frame hitches in effects-heavy fights and asynchronous asset-streaming improvements intended to shorten loads during fast travel, dungeon entry and cinematic transitions.
Developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games, Where Winds Meet is a free-to-play open-world wuxia action RPG set in tenth-century China. Its global PC and PS5 launch was November 14, 2025, putting Hutuo's release just ahead of that anniversary. On PS5, online play is required, even when playing solo.
The team will share more Hutuo gameplay and developer details during its First Anniversary Special Broadcast on November 2. The announcement does not specify the anniversary reward contents or an exact day for Dual Spears.
