Where Winds Meet's Qingzhou update opens on October 15 with a new sect that players can learn from without abandoning their existing affiliation. The Inkbound Order accepts guest scholars, giving established wanderers a way into its teachings while keeping their current sect.

The new region is arriving in stages. According to the official Qingzhou announcement, Eastern Peak opens first, taking players through mountain paths and coastal mudflats. Penglai follows on October 29, adding an island with seafront academies and further stories. Today's update does not unlock the whole region at once.

The Inkbound Order gives that academy setting a purpose beyond a change of scenery. Its A Duel of Wits mode turns PvP into a card-based debate, with players attacking an opponent's composure instead of their health. Paired with the guest-scholar system, it offers another way to compete and develop a character without making a clean break from their existing martial school.

There is a new combat role to try, too. The Ribbon Drum combines ribbons that strike and bind enemies with drumming that buffs teammates. Knockback and Silence effects give it crowd-control tools alongside those support abilities.

Qingzhou's encounters draw on local performance traditions. Three new world bosses include the stilt-walking Tidewatcher, the staff-wielding Old Raftsman and Dragonfall Camp leader Zhu Yinghan, whose fighting style uses shuttlecock kicks. They keep martial combat at the centre of the region even as the Inkbound Order introduces a less violent form of competition.

Developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games, Where Winds Meet is a free-to-play open-world wuxia action RPG set in tenth-century China. It launched globally on PC and PS5 on November 14, 2025, so Qingzhou expands an existing adventure rather than starting a new game. The current official site also links Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android versions.

Solo play is an option, but it is not an offline game: PlayStation's listing specifies that online play is required.
